A Mountain (Sentinal Peak) is clearly visible just west of downtown Tucson. The prominent red, white, and blue "A" consists of large rocks formed into the letter A and is painted yearly by student organizations from the University of Arizona.
You can travel up a paved road to near the top of A Mountain and see a beautiful panoramic view of the entire city of Tucson.

Take Broadway/Congress west from Interstate 10 and follow the signs.
